Within the “Addressing the Economic Drivers of Irregular Migration” project, the National Council for Women (NCW), in partnership with the European Union (EU), implemented a vocational training on the production of copper “Bookmark”, and targeted a number of women in Kom Al-Baraka village in Beheira Governorate, from February 25 to March 13, 2023.

The training included teaching women the basics and stages of the craft to enhance their abilities and develop their skills to find job opportunities and consequently have a source of income to improve their living standards.

Additionally, the women trainees have participated with their products as gifts to the guests attending the Egyptian Women's Day and Ideal Mother's Celebration 2023.

It is worth noting that the “Addressing the Economic Drivers of Irregular Migration” project aims to promote alternatives to irregular migration through promoting enterprise development and work opportunities for women and youth in Beheira, Gharbia, Luxor and Minya Governorates, in addition to implementing awareness-raising activities to highlight the risks of irregular migration based on the previous efforts.
